Champions League quarter finals;Barcelona 4 Roma 1:Two own goals gift Barcelona the win

Sluggish and slow, Barcelona laboured through a first half hour in which neither side attempted much apart from occasional dives in the penalty area.

Edin Dzeko and Andrew Iniesta both went down looking, while Alessandro Florenzi hit the deck in the area with Nelson Semedo in attendance. The Dutch ref was unmoved by all.

Roma’s captain Daniele De Rossi hit an unstoppable shot into his own net to break the deadlock in the 38th minute of what had been a delicately poised game and a second own goal 10 minutes into the second half, this time by Greek defender Kostas Manolas, stretched the runaway La Liga leaders’ advantage.

Barca defender Gerard Pique piled more misery on the Italians four minutes later, mopping up on the rebound after Luis Suarez was thwarted by goalkeeper Alisson before Roma’s top scorer Edin Dzeko struck at the right end to give his side faint hope of a turnaround in the second leg.

Nike unveiled two of its team kits months ahead of the 21st edition of the FIFA World Cup 2018 tournament, taking place June. The kits of both countries reveal clear evidence of hints from historic kits blended with a tourch of “modern fashion and culture”

England’s kits

Nike unveiled home and away kits together with a collection of matching tracksuits.

Both kits feature the Saint George’s cross on the outer back neck, while a rosette is located on the inside.

A custom typeface based on Johnston and Gil Sans fonts was designed for player names, and numbers have been moved from the centre of the shirt to below the crest to make the fabric more breathable. The home kit shows a classic look, pairing a white shirt with blue shorts – both accented by red trimming.

Chelsea might have turned their attention to Roma in search of a striker after their supposed loan deal for West Ham’s Andy Carroll collapsed due to injury.

Reports from Sky Italy suggest Chelsea are interested in signing former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko from Roma

Their reports also say Chelsea are prepared to pay €50m for Dzeko and his team-mate Emerson Palmieri, who plays as left-back…..For some extra price though!

Chelsea are prepaird to let Roma have Michy Batshuayi on loan as part of the deal as Roma are not very willing to let go of Dzeko during this January window but the Italians are also asking for another €15m.
